How can I send SMS messages?
You can send SMS messages within the Netherlands and abroad for a low fixed rate. This does not apply to any paid-for SMS services you may have subscribed to.

If requested, you will need to enter the number of the Ortel Mobile SMS exchange: +31653 131 314.
Please note that to send SMS messages from abroad, you must have at least € 0,75 call credit. Don’t forget to take enough call credit when you go abroad.
How can I receive SMS messages?
You do not have to do anything special to receive SMS messages. Most phones indicate the reception of a SMS message thanks to a sound and/or a small, closed envelope on the screen. Please refer to your mobile phone manual to find out how you are informed about a new SMS message and how to read it.
Receiving SMS messages is always FREE, even when you are abroad.
Can I use paid SMS services?
You can use SMS for all kinds of special services, such as traffic updates, football results and TV voting. Ortel Mobile will charge you the price of a normal SMS message but the providers of these special paid services will charge you extra. The cost of receiving a message will depend on which service you are using.
How can I cancel a paid SMS service?
If you are receiving paid SMS messages, contact the provider of this SMS service to cancel the service.
Does Ortel Mobile prepaid support MMS?
Ortel Mobile gives you the possibility to send and receive MMS messages from your mobile phone. That way you can share your dearest photo moments.
First thing you need to do is to make sure that your handset is configured with the MMS settings. Ortel Mobile provides you with a web tool to configure automatically your handset. See below for the MMS settings. You can also enter the settings below by yourself by following the instructions of your phone user manual.
In case your handset is not supporting MMS then you will receive an SMS message with the following text:
“Je hebt een MMS of videobericht ontvangen van +316 XXXXXXX. Bekijk dit bericht binnen 3 dagen op www.ortelmobile.nl met berichtcode XXX”
